Jim Carrey Slashes Price of L.A. Mansion for a 4th Time—Knocking an Almighty $9 Million Off the Original Ask

Jim Carrey is renowned for his comedic timing and hilarious on-screen appearances—but it’s doubtful the funnyman is feeling very festive after knocking an additional $2.15 million off the price of his Los Angeles mansion, marking the fourth time he has slashed the price in less than two years.

Carrey, 62, originally put the five-bedroom, nine-bathroom estate on the market in February 2023 with a sky-high listing price of $28.9 million. Despite the property’s glitzy celebrity ties and picture-perfect amenities, it failed to garner much interest, prompting the “Bruce Almighty” star to lower the ask to $26.5 million just two months later.

Yet again, no luck.

So, Carrey offered a new deal in October of that same year, bringing the price down to $23.95 million in the hopes that someone (anyone?) might bite, only to be met with further disappointment.

Perhaps keen to see if a different tactic might work, the actor decided to relist the home in May 2024, this time for $21.9 million, allowing it to sit on the market for four months before once again reevaluating his expectations.

Clearly, Carrey has decided that the real estate rut he’s in has gone beyond a joke, and the home has once again been relisted, this time for $19.75 million, the New York Post first reported.

Still, don’t feel too bad for the “Dumb and Dumber” star, who still stands to make a sizable profit on the $3.8 million he purchased the home for in 1994.

Strangely, it’s hard to understand why the property hasn’t found a buyer, given its enviable location in the upscale Brentwood neighborhood, its beautiful lush gardens, and its light-filled open-plan layout.

There is also plenty of privacy afforded to residents, courtesy of the 280 feet of hedged frontage that blocks the home from public view. Behind that sits a 2-acre lot on which the home is situated.
